Interdictions in Elite Dangerous

An interdiction is getting pulled out of super cruise by someone else against your will. It could be the local system authority vessels, or it could be pirates or other players.

Since Beta 3 it has been possible to evade an interdiction.

1. Whilst you are in super cruise you will hear an alarm & sound effect shortly before the interdiction begins.

2. During the interdiction detected phase, your HUD will display two bars: the left/blue bar is the “evasion” bar, and the right/red bar is the “interdiction” bar - and example is shown in Figure 1 where both bars are about 50% filled.
   1. If the blue bar fills up, you will evade the interdiction
   2. If the red bar fills up, you will be interdicted and pulled out of super cruise
3. Your task to evade the interdiction is to try and align your ship's cross hairs with the interdiction escape vector shown.
   1. When your cross hairs are aligned successfully they will be high-lighted in blue.
4. Keep your cross hairs aligned with the interdiction escape vector until the blue bar fills; this may take 10-20 seconds depending on how well you're able to keep alignment.
5. When the blue bar is filled, you'll have successfully evaded interdiction.

Once you have evaded the interdiction, you'll still be in super cruise and you can continue on to your destination.
